me and my wife had IVF abroad, can we claim the expenses in our tax return? can we include the flights expenses? thanks.

You can deduct the IVF costs, but very likely not the associated meds for the shots, etc if the meds were obtained outside the US. Flight expenses, most likely deductible, but if u stayed for longer than just for the IVF treatment, then travel expenses would probably have to be prorated. And if u stayed beyond when the sperm were retrieved, ur expenses beyond that would not be deductible - staying for moral support for ur wife after the physical need for u to be there is not deductible.

Only the part of ur med expenses that is over 7.5% of ur AG l is deductible, & then only if u itemize.
